Burnaby Environment Week: May 31st to June 7th

Submit a nomination today!Burnaby Environment Week is an annual week-long program of environmentally-themed community activities held in early June to coincide with Canadian Environment Week. Activities are coordinated by City staff who work with our many community partners to deliver activities that are family oriented, informative and encourage community participation.

2014 Environment Week ~ Saturday, May 31 to Saturday, June 7

Planning for 2014 Environment Week is underway. This year’s theme is Eco-Wise in Your Community, which encourages citizens to inform and empower themselves to incorporate new and environmentally friendly ideas and practices into their daily lives. Recognizing that the concept of ‘environmental sustainability’ and the need for individual action can, at times, be overwhelming, the Eco-Wise in Your Community program will be focus on small but significant changes that individuals can choose to make part of their daily lives.


Planning for Environment Week is underway. Keep checking back to this web page for updates. It is anticipated the program will be finalized by mid to late April. Program details available now are presented below:



Saturday, May 31, 9am to 2pm. City of Burnaby, City Hall (4949 Canada Way), in the outer courtyard.

This is a free public event with environmental displays, live blue grass music by 5 on a String, prize draws, face painting and many other activities for kids and 200 free veggie burgers fresh from the BBQ. The weekly Burnaby Farmers Market will occur nearby, in the north parking lot.  Plan to attend both events!  Prize draws at the Environment Festival will include Farmers Market dollars that can be spent the same day!
