Talking Sustainability: Trans Mountain Presents at BBOT Business Innovation and Sustainability Event
On June 27, 2019, Trans Mountain was invited by the Burnaby Board of Trade to speak at its annual “Business Innovation & Sustainability Talks” forum, an event that brought together professionals and business community members with an interest in sustainability.
Ian Levitt, Lead Environmental Inspector, was part of a rapid-fire presentation where he shared examples of how Trans Mountain implements sustainable initiatives every day.
Some of these initiatives include monitoring water quality by installing erosion protection measures, diverting materials into the appropriate recycling bins and using crew buses and utility terrain vehicles at Burnaby Terminal to reduce the use of fossil fuels.
Trans Mountain is among good company in striving to show leadership in environmental stewardship. Other companies that presented include Metro Vancouver, Fortis BC, Ricky’s Restaurant, Unbuilders, Encorp and BC Bee Supply.
We are grateful to be recognized at this annual forum and look forward to leveraging ideas from the business community to show continued growth and innovation in sustainable initiatives with the Burnaby Board of Trade.
