OUR PLEDGE:
• New in 2015 – Install four Organic Recycling Stations in our 1100-seat Food Court
• New in 2015 – Enhance tenant recycling at all delivery/loading docks. In addition to the existing full separation of plastic, paper, film, batteries, and cardboard recycling, introduce organic recycling stations to comply with the Metro Vancouver Organics Ban
• New in 2015 – New common area organic and recycling receptacles throughout shopping centre
• New in 2015 – In partnership with Concord Security’s Parking Division, encourage eco-friendly practices for parking enforcement by patrolling the 8000 stall parkade and surface lots with a new fully electric vehicle
• Participate and encourage retailers to participate in energy saving programs, including: National Sweater Day and Earth Hour
• Continue to encourage our contractors to engage in Green practices. Our housekeeping team uses eco-friendly cleaning solutions and hybrid vehicles on-site, and our landscapers use eco-friendly landscaping materials
• Continue to print mall maps on FSC-certified paper with 10% post-consumer waste recycled content
RECENT & ONGOING ACTIONS:

• For all new retailers, include green communication and waste removal guide in their Retailer Handbook
• Continue to reduce paper memo delivery by encouraging retailers and store mangers to sign-up for email memos
• Provide monetary donations to environmental programs run by local schools and non-profit organizations through the Metropolis Express Train’s Community Investment Fund
