December 2016 Pledge Newsletter

Happy Holidays Pledge Members!

2016 Sustainability Highlights!

Before year end we would love to hear from our sustainable business community, meaning you!

It’s that time of year where we ask you to share your single most important sustainable achievement for 2016! Maybe it’s a waste reduction milestone, or your employees have achieved new heights of fitness (and reduced GHG’s) by cycling to work.

Share one milestone, write it on a piece of paper, take a picture and tweet BurnabyBOT with #sustainableburnaby or email me your 2016 milestone at tessa@bbot.ca

Collaborating: We are looking forward next year to working closely with Vancity on developing programming and opportunities for Burnaby businesses to become more sustainable. Read more here.

Congratulations to Stantec on being nominated Sustainable Business of the Year at the Burnaby Business Excellence Awards. Read more here.

Check out our Holiday Tips Series: Decorating Without the Detriment, Garbage Free Gifts, Holiday Sustainability Made Simple.

Community Partnerships – BC Technology for Learning and Telus – Internet for Good is a partnership with TELUS announced on October 14th, 2016 and aims to bridge the last sector of the digital divide, the low income family home. Over 100 computers delivered shows early sign of success. Read more here.

Help us grow the Pledge!  Some companies have already taken steps to be more sustainable, others want to! The pledge is a perfect tool for organizations to take first and next steps to becoming more sustainable! Ask your neighbours, suppliers and customers to Take the Pledge today. Have a happy and safe holiday!
