Since 1996, the City of Burnaby has presented the Environment Awards to recognize and celebrate organizations and individuals who contribute their time and effort toward the protection and enhancement of a sustainable environment. Nominations for the Awards are recommended by the Citizen Representatives of the Environment Committee with City Council approval. A presentation for award recipients is held during Burnaby’s Environment Week.
Environment Awards 2013
The City invites you to submit an on-line nomination today for the 2013 Environment Awards. A print version Nomination Form is also available and may be submitted to the City Burnaby Planning Department, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or to 4949 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC V5G 1M2. The 2013 deadline for submission is April 15.
The Environmental Awards Program consists of two designations; Environment Awards, which are given to groups and individuals for their outstanding environmental achievements; or Environmental Stars, given to recognize the accomplishments carried out on a smaller scale, but equally significant. Awards may be presented in six categories:
- Business Stewardship
- Community Stewardship
- Green Choices
- Planning and Development
